Experienced Project Architect / Registered Architect

Auhaus seeks a Project Architect / Registered Architect with a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience working on high-end single residential projects. 

The successful applicant must have extensive knowledge of detailed construction documentation and a genuine interest in individually crafted residential projects. 

Typical aspects of the role;

  • Development of Design Concepts within the team for client presentation and beyond

  • Preparation of drawings, diagrams, and reports for consent and town planning applications 

  • Co-ordination of consultants and incorporation of their work into the Architectural drawing set

  • Resolution of detailed design and material specification within the Design Development package

  • Preparation of Contract documentation drawings, schedules, and specification for tender and construction

  • Co-ordination of the tender process

  • Preparation of Contracts

  • Assessment of RFI’s, variations, and Progress Claims throughout the Contract Administration stage of work

Skills required

  • Ability to solve problems and work through design solutions

  • Extensive detailing and documentation skills

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with clients and external consultants

  • Confidently co-ordinate the work of consultants

  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently and taking initiatives to move on with project tasks

  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to visualise concepts and iron out problem areas during documentation 

  • Comfortable working within a team environment

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work through the process of detailed design to deliver buildable and durable and cost-effective construction solutions

  • Keen interest in testing material use and construction methods

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of the Planning Scheme and associated requirements relating to the Building Consent and Town Planning process

  • Good understanding of the NCC and standards relevant to residential projects

  • Thorough understanding of building methodologies, material performance, and the roles of individual trades within the construction team

  • General understanding of labor and material costs in residential construction

Software

  • Vectorworks preferred but not essential

  • Rhino preferred but not essential

  • Adobe Suite

  • Mac knowledge an advantage
